Description

Floorclad A is a higher-density, non-combustible stone wool insulation board developed to enhance acoustic performance within separation floors, improving both airborne sound reduction (-55-65 dB) and impact sound control.

With a declared thermal conductivity of λ = 0.039 – 0.040 W/mK and a nominal density of 200 kg/m³, Floorclad A is optimised for acoustic performance. It also provides thermal efficiency and maintains Euroclass A1 non-combustible fire performance.

Manufactured from natural volcanic basalt and compliant with EN 13162, Floorclad A is particularly effective in multi-residential buildings, hotels, and commercial developments where acoustic comfort between floors is essential.

Floorclad A is classified as Euroclass A1 (non-combustible) and is suitable for buildings of any height in accordance with UK Building Regulations.

Typical applications

  • Separation floors between residential units
  • Floating floor constructions
  • Acoustic floor systems
  • Multi-storey residential and commercial buildings
  • Hotels and mixed-use developments

Advantages

  • Non-combustible Euroclass A1 fire performance
  • Designed for enhanced acoustic performance in separation floors
  • High nominal density of 200 kg/m³ for improved sound insulation
  • Excellent airborne sound absorption
  • Improved impact sound reduction in floating floor applications
  • Thermal conductivity λ = 0.040 W/mK
  • Durable and dimensionally stable
  • Vapour permeable for effective moisture management

For primarily thermal performance in floors, see Floorclad T (150 kg/m³).
